This symposium brings opportunity for the BIT predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees to present their theses and postdoctoral research projects. The program is broken down into four major research areas: The Genome; The Transcriptome; The Proteome; and Molecular Modeling and Systems Biology.

This regional conference is on "Gene Discovery in Complex Polygenic Diseases."  In addition to industry and academic presentations on a range of human genomics topics, the Keynote Speaker Tal Finney will discuss the Governor's Life Science Initiative.

This symposium gives BIT predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees the opportunity to present their theses and research projects. The program is divided into three major research areas: Gene Expression and Systems biology; Sequence Analysis; and Molecular Structure, Design, and Recognition.

Structural Genomics Research Symposium

The target audience for this event includes academics from UC Irvine and other UC campuses, as well as selected members of the industrial community. In particular, we are targeting the UCI interdisciplinary structural genomics community; the larger interdisciplinary UC structural genomics community to broaden the discussions; and the third target includes technically sophisticated members from industry who can contribute practical considerations.
